Protection PLUS™ 4.4 was released earlier this year with several new features:

• Windows Vista Support
• Enhanced Computer ID Algorithms significantly improve Single User copy protection functionality.
• Enhanced Computer ID functionality is supported in Instant PLUS™ as well as all of the APIs
• A single Computer ID is generated from 17 pieces of hardware and operating system items
• Voting system with user-defined threshold better determines when a computer has actually changed
• Instant PLUS™ 2.1 now supports application protection without trialware functionality
• Instant PLUS™ now can target Spanish language applications.
• Added code to dramatically speed up floating network licensing

In late October, Protection PLUS™ 4.4.1 was released. The following minor changes and enhancements are now available:

• Updated samples to use the Enhanced Computer ID algorithms
• Updated the Enhanced Computer ID auto-upgrade logic in EZTrial to also auto-upgrade demo licenses.
• Updated installer to allow installing into Program Files folder under Windows Vista.
• Added COMPNO_SERVER_MACADDR algorithm for network floating implementations (documented in the pp_compno [legacy] topic).
• pp_lfopen and pp_lfalias now supports using the scatter mechanism in more than just HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (:LM:). HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT (:CR:) and HKEY_CURRENT_USER (:CU:) now also supports scattering.
• Resolved an issue with pp_semopen which would cause Terminal Services sessions to end prematurely.
• Various documentation updates.
• Changes to Instant PLUS:
• Added Alternate Purchase URL and button on welcome screen (for MyOfferPal).
• Resolved an issue where Error 69 (invalid trigger code) was shown immediately after phone activation when online registration was completed.
• Now correctly displays the runs left text for the evaluation dialog of a wrapped program (unlimited runs & days were not considered)
• Added a license check when the evaluation feature is clicked as a security enhancement
• Added documentation for IPConsole's -nohash option (use when you need to sign your wrapped executable/dll)

New Payment Gateway - First Atlantic Commerce merchant accounts are now supported.

XmlCustomerService Web Service - The XmlCustomerService web service has been added, supporting retrieval of customer and license data on a per customer basis for use in a custom customer service implementation. For more information, see SOLO Manual

Canadian Tax Support - Canadian taxes are now supported on a per province basis.

Enhancements to Forgot Password Page - The customer forgotten password page has been reworked with an enhanced look and feel. In addition, functionality has been improved to email license information in addition to customer information, and also to search for duplicate customer records rather than just the first matching customer record.

Custom License Mailings Now Support [varRemainingActivations] S/R Parameter - Custom license mailings support a new [varRemainingActivations] search/replace parameter, which is replaced with the number of activations remaining on the license.

Custom Invoice Post Processing Services Now Available - Support for custom online invoice post processing is now available, allowing additional non-standard invoice processing actions such as placing an order to a fulfillment center to be performed in real time. Custom Customer Options Field Now Available - Support for customer level customer options is now available, allowing custom actions to be displayed on the customer details page. For more information on setting up custom customer options, contact support@softwarekey.com.

MARX OLM Support - SOLO Server™ now supports MARX OLM (Online License Management). This allows customers using Marx CryptoBox to easily and automatically update the contents of their hardware key.

Load .NET Reports Within A Page - The sales tax, monthly, and expired licenses reports can now be displayed inside the page or downloaded directly.

Test Email Mailings Before Sending. "Test" link has been added to the mailings list page to allow sending a test email to the logged-in user's email address.

Improved Image Upload Capability - The image uploading process is now one step quicker for the author, product and product option uploading processes. We did this by configuring each page with embedded uploading functionality.

New Expired Licenses Report - A new report to identify expiring licenses has been added. From the menu, choose Reports / Licenses / Expired Licenses.

License Details Page Offers More Details - User defined numeric and date fields are now viewable and editable on the license details page. This is a feature for advanced customers.

Product/Option Customer Service HTML - A new field for Customer Service HTML has been added to the product and product options. This field will override the Order Confirm HTML on the customer service license details page when present.

1. Create a trial version of your product.
2. Allow customers to purchase your application, or get your application for free by having them select an offer from one of the several trusted partners.
3. Upon establishing an account with MyOfferPal, simply paste in the URL they provide under the Alternative Payment URL on the General Product Information step of Instant PLUS.
4. When the trial of your product has expired, the end user will see a "Get [Product Name] for free" option.
