SOLO SERVER DISPLAY AT MICROSOFT PDC 2001 BOOTH A SUCCESS Thanks to all who stopped by our booth at Microsoft PDC 2001 in Los Angeles and welcome to any new subscribers who have joined us since then! Attendance at our booth was positively overwhelming. The demonstration of our current SoftwareKey SOLO Server in action, integrating seamlessly with Protection PLUS was a real crowd pleaser. We also updated our Tutorial Movies to show how our Electronic License Management(tm) (ELM) can be implemented to track usage and disable features on demand. Overall, the Instant SOLO Administration interface was the biggest hit with our customers. If you missed out on the fun in Los Angeles, you can download these new movies from http://www.softwarekey.com/startup/literature.htm and see our online store in action. Or, send us your mailing address and we will send you a free CD and brochure. =========================================================== 2. SOLO SERVER EARLY ADOPTER PROGRAM CONTINUES With over 85 companies now using Instant SOLO, processing thousands of dollars a day in software orders, SOLO Server has proven to be a stable, robust platform for selling software online. In addition, SOLO Server has been deployed to multiple locations proving valuable feedback to help us enhance the product to make it even better for new customers. Concept Software is still looking for a few more US-based "Early Adopter" sites. These are customers familiar with Protection PLUS and SoftwareKey SOLO who are willing to be a test location. We are offering a 50% discount on the estimated price we will charge for the turnkey package. We do not consider an "Early Adopter" the same as a beta tester, since the software distributed is the same running on our servers and processing live transactions all day long. If you are interested in our Early Adopter program, contact sales@softwarekey.com or call us +1 407 786 4457. You must already be using Protection PLUS in your application to participate. =========================================================== 3. PROTECTION PLUS 4.2 BETA AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD Concept Software is proud to announce the availability of Protection PLUS(tm) 4.2 BETA available now to existing Protection PLUS customers. Instant PLUS(tm) interface and Microsoft VB.NET sample code are just a few of the features added to the newest version of this industry-acclaimed licensing toolkit. Now with the addition of Instant PLUS, developers can add the most common features of Protection PLUS into their application without source code modifications. Instant PLUS injects code into your existing .EXE, .SCR, .DLL or .OCX files to protect against decompilers or other hacking tools that are used to discover information about your application. In addition to the security features, trial features can be added to your application seamlessly. For the full press release, visit http://www.softwarekey.com/helpdesk/whats_new_PLUS_42B1.htm. Protection PLUS users under an active subscription can download the beta from http://www.softwarekey.com/helpdesk/reg_beta.asp. Below is a list of some of the changes in the PLUS libraries: * When using EZ Trial or EZ Trigger with the static library, it is no longer necessary to modify the resources in your application. * LFEdit is now associated with .LF file extension and can open License Files by double clicking on them. It will search for the most appropriate Product Definition by looking at the License File name. * EZ Trigger dialog box now lists User Code 1 and 2 as locked text boxes to allow the customer to copy and paste the numbers into an e-mail message, etc. Previously they were listed as labels which could not be copied and pasted. * Updated dependency files to remove system DLLs that should not be distributed with application. * When License File Aliases are opened, the Windows NT/2000/XP permissions are now automatically set so allow everyone to write to them. In previous versions, an Administrator or Power User would have to install the product, but if a restricted user ran the application, the aliases would not be updated since they did not have the proper write permissions. This does not cause any errors. However, in the latest version, because the permissions are relaxed, all users will be able to update the aliases. This applies to both the registry and file-based aliases. Do you have any requested changes or new features? Please forward them to support@softwarekey.com with "PLUS 4.2 Request" in the subject. ===================== Copyright © 2002 Concept Software, Inc. All rights reserved.
