System Requirements

Instant SOLO Server / Instant SOLO Server Dedicated URL

Because Instant SOLO Server and Instant SOLO Server Dedicated URL are hosted services, the only system requirement is a web browser to access the administration pages. Current versions of most popular browsers are supported.

SOLO Server

SOLO Server requires the following components:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, or 2008
• Microsoft SQL Server/SQL Server Express 2005 or later
• SSL Certificate for HTTPS (secure) connections
• 100MB hard drive space
• SMTP server
• .NET Framework 2.0
• Latest MSXML 6.0 Core Services

Requirements for e-commerce transactions: Merchant account and compatible payment gateway. A credit card payment gateway is a service which links your site to a merchant bank network. There are hundreds of credit card payment gateways ranging from swipe point of sale (POS) terminals to Internet-based services. SOLO Server uses a payment gateway to bill customers and issue refunds.

SOLO Server Lite

SOLO Server Lite Classic ASP edition requires the following components:

• Microsoft Windows 2000, or 2003 Server
• Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or later
• CDOSYS
• ODBC Data Source
• 100MB hard drive space
• SMTP server
• If installing on a remote server hosted by an ISP, either you need to have remote access (i.e. Remote Desktop) to the server or the ISP must be willing to install and activate SOLO Lite for you.
• Recommended but not required: SSL Certificate for securing online communications
• Console access is required to register and activate library

SOLO Server Lite PHP edition requires the following components:

• System using Linux 2.6 Kernel (BSD variants with ELF support work as well)
• Apache Web Server
• PHP 4.3 or later and the Apache PHP module (mod_php)
• MySQL 4.1 or higher and the PHP plug-in for MySQL support
• The ability to upload regular binary/executable files and run them from PHP scripts
• 100 MB free disk space
• SMTP server
• Recommended but not required: SSL Certificate for securing online communications
