Activation Options

Activation Successful Message: This is the message displayed on the activation dialog upon successfully activating the product.

Activation Failed Message: This is the message displayed on the activation dialog if the activation fails.

Installation Name Options: Options for specifying an Installation Name when activating through SOLO Server.

This name will be listed in the license activation history in the SOLO Server author interface and the Customer License Portal, which makes it easier to identify and remotely deactivate an installation.

The Installation Name can be specified by the user, or it can use the Computer/Device Name (which is found in the Windows System / About screen):

You can customize the default label of Installation Name (e.g. "Work Laptop"): in the license dialog by editing the .ipp file.

Open a browser to a URL after activating: Check this option to open the user's browser to a URL after a successful activation. Specify the page to open in the URL field.

To do a registry lookup to allow specifying a URL override use :LM:keyPath:valueName after the URL. For example: www.website.com:LM:Software\Company Name\Urls:activationUrl. :LM: is short for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. If you omit the :valueName it will use the default string value for keyPath.

This is a modular application: Check this option if this application is part of a suite of applications using modular activations. When activating a modular application with trigger code 3 or 4, the license file will contain a bit-field which specifies what applications or modules are activated. Set the corresponding bit in the Use Bit drop-down. Note: Do not check this option if you are licensing a single application with multiple modules/features that you want to enable or disable. See the modular application tutorial for more information.

Validate the Product ID when activating online: During activation, SOLO Server will validate that the License ID being used has the same Product ID as the protected application. If the License ID is for a different Product ID, SOLO Server will return error 200, which lets you know that the user is trying to activate one product with a License ID from another product. It will log these Product IDs in the SOLO Server license activation history. Enabling this option is recommended in most all cases. You may disregard this option if you are not using SOLO Server.
