How does SOLO Server work?
Simply load all of your product details and pricing into the server. You can also upload a simple company logo or banner graphic so your brand name is displayed on the shopping cart, or completely customize the look and feel of the shopping cart to match your brochure website.
SOLO Server handles the entire e-commerce transaction from Buy Now button through to order completion. Your software or web site will link transparently to our server when the user wants to place an order. SOLO Server processes your customer's credit card in real-time and, upon credit card approval, provides them with their personal code to activate the software. An order notification is instantly sent to you with the customer's order details. You are provided a password to access the Administration site where you can update your company and product information, as well as generate various reports.

What if I already have a shopping cart or don't want to sell online through SOLO Server?
SOLO Server can be used just as an activation server as well. An online sale is not required. Your existing shopping cart may be customized to use SOLO Server's web services to automate the process of issuing licenses for online purchases.

Can I upgrade to SOLO Server later?
Certainly! However, we recommend that you consider Instant SOLO Server Dedicated URL to easily transfer the database and URL to your own IT infrastructure in the future.

I do not live inside the United States. Can I use Instant SOLO Server?
Yes. We have many Instant SOLO Server clients residing outside the United States. Their software is priced in the store in a single currency. Customers can purchase your software from anywhere because credit cards automatically bill the customer in their local currency. The shopping cart can be displayed in French, Italian, German, and Spanish languages.

Can customers purchase by phone or mail in a check or purchase order?
Yes, provided they contact you to place the order. You can enter orders into SOLO Server manually when your customers pay by credit card or other means. You can give away Not For Resale copies of your software with just a few clicks.

Can I use my existing merchant account?
Yes, for eCommerce transactions, you must supply a merchant account. All credit card charges are processed through your merchant account when a customer purchases online. The money is deposited directly into your bank account and you can negotiate discounted credit card processing fees with your bank. Contact your bank to see if they support one of the compatible payment gateways.

Are there any restrictions on the test Instant SOLO Server accounts?
Some uploading to the server is disabled, and only test licenses can be added to the database. Test licenses are not billable and are removed automatically at the end of the month. You should be able to fully evaluate the service and made a decision whether or not you want to use it. Test accounts can be very quickly activated to remove the restrictions.

Can I evaluate SOLO Server Lite?
Contact our sales department and request a link to our sandbox SOLO Server Lite server. You may add your own test data and browse through all of the menus and online help. Keep in mind that the SOLO Server Lite product contains all the scripting source code that renders these pages, so you can customize them all.

Can I install SOLO Server Lite on a shared server with an ISP?
The PHP/Linux version may be installed on a shared server. The Classic ASP/Windows version requires remote access (i.e. Remote Desktop) to the server or the ISP must be willing to install and activate SOLO Lite for you.
