We are happy to announce the 2021 annual release of SOLO Server, with several enhancements to the administrative interface, customer license portal, and web services, as well as a new integration with Avalara Avatax!

Administrative Interface Enhancements

  • Custom parameter sets can now be quickly cloned through a new Clone option in the fly out menu on the custom parameter set listing page.

  • When manually adding a license, you can now specify the Licensee Name and Email at license creation rather than having to edit the license and back fill the information after creation.

  • When editing a product or product option, the ProductID and OptionID are now displayed as read only.
  • Protection PLUS 5 license file content can now be previewed in unencrypted format on the license details page.

Customer License Portal Enhancements

  • On the installation history page in the customer license portal:
    • For active installations, the license file can now be downloaded, simplifying license refreshing for licenses that do not have internet access.
    • The last check in date is now displayed in the listing, allowing customers to identify which installations are phoning home.

  • The reset customer password page now includes a honeypot CAPTCHA to help prevent automated bots from performing random searches.

Web Services Enhancements

  • The XmlCustomerService.GetCustomerDataByAuthor web method now includes the CustomerID in the result data.
  • The XmlActivationService.ActivateInstallation and ActivateInstallationLicenseFile web methods now include the Product, LicenseID, Quantity, and ActivationsLeft xml elements when activation fails due to no more activations remaining (result code 5013).
